A Guide to Time Traveling
Noble Wolf, Bad Roman (A Doctor Who Inspired Poem)

If only this was all just a bad

dream, no need for this wolf,

prowling before the dark rows

carved by the edge of this pond.

Such a creature, so noble,

to defend me from the Roman.

Who would have imagined that a Roman,

would so easily cross into lands forbad.

I had come to expect more from such a noble

empire. Yet now all that stands between them and victory is one lone wolf.

On an island, in a pond

stands his charge, I, a single rose.

And what is the tale behind this rose?

Why does the Roman

seek me, protected as I am by the wolf and the pond?

Would he use my powers for good, or bad?

That was a risk the wolf

was unwilling to take. Noble,

the man might be. But nobil-

ity in the face of great power… the rose

could easily change that. The wolf

knew this about me. The Roman

was a fool and a bad

man to try and cross the pond.

The pond

was not there to be crossed. That was not it’s purpose. Noble

though his intentions might be, he bad-

gered the wolf. His target in sight, I, the legendary rose…

What was a solitary wolf in the face of that power, thought the Roman.

What was stopping him? He made to strike the wolf

down, his spear aimed at the wolf’s

chest. The surface of the clear pond

stained red now, and the Roman

fell aside. Noble

thought he might have been, the wolf

had no choice. Once more sun shined down on the rose.

Noble was the wolf

who defended the shores of the pond where I, the rose,

bloomed from the bad Roman.
